"Las Viudas" is a Chilean fiction feature film by director Juan Pablo Arias Muñoz, which takes place in present-day Santiago, in the midst of a social rethinking that questions the prevailing patriarchal system and the place of immigrants in society. The film tells the story of Margarita (66), a conservative middle-class woman, and Dalia (26), an immigrant, who meet and take on the challenge of recognizing each other after the death of the man they shared without knowing it. The two women begin an unexpected friendship that has consequences for Margarita's family, who must decide between her old role and her new independence.
